"Pako rabong" or growing ferns pattern is featured in the back of the Kabataan teks cards. It is a popular motif used in Southeast Asian textiles. The pattern is a common motif used in a large tubular multi-use infinite garment called malong. Malong is used by the Maranao and Maguindanao tribes from southern Philippines. It can be worn as a dress or trousers or used as a cape, a raincoat, a bag, or any head gear.

I owned a malong growing up. I mainly used it as a blanket as it wrapped all of me up in a bundle. I held onto it for a long time until it tore into half. It became a source of comfort, so it was hard to let it go.
